ใช้งาน OpenOffice โดยไม่ต้องติดตั้งด้วย PortableApps.com Suite
โปรแกรมแบบ Portable นั้น ช่วยให้สามารถใช้โปรแกรมได้โดยไม่จำเป็นต้องทำการติดตั้งลงบนระบบ และยังสามารถที่จะเก็บโปรแกรมแบบ Portable ไว้ในแฟลชไดร์ฟเพื่อพกพาไปใช้งานบนเครื่องต่างๆ ได้อย่างสะดวกอีกด้วย สำหรับท่านที่ต้องการใช้งานหรือทดลองใช้งานโปรแกรม OpenOffice แต่ยังไม่อยากติดตั้งลงคอมพิวเตอร์ สามารถดาวน์โหลด OpenOffice Portable Edition มาใช้งานได้จากเว็บไซต์ http://portableapps.com/apps/office/openoffice_portable

ชุดโปรแกรม PortableApps.com Suite
PortableApps.com Suite เป็นชุดซอฟต์แวร์ซึ่งรวบรวมโปรแกรมแบบ Portable ที่ได้รับความนิยมหลายๆ ตัว โดยจะมีโปรแกรมประเภทต่างๆ ดังนี้ web browser, email client, office suite, calendar/scheduler, instant messaging client, antivirus, audio player, sudoku game, password manager, PDF reader, minesweeper clone, backup utility และ integrated menu โดยทุกโปรแกรมนั้นจะทำงานแบบ เวอร์ชันปัจจุบัน (20 ก.ค. 52) คือ 1.5.2

PortableApps.com Suite มีให้เลือกใช้งาน 3 เวอร์ชันด้วยกัน คือ เวอร์ชัน Plateform Only เวอร์ชัน Suite Light และเวอร์ชัน Suite Standard ซึ่งแต่ละเวอร์ชันจะแตกต่างกันที่จำนวนโปรแกรมที่มีให้ใช้งาน โดยชุดโปรแกรม OpenOffice นั้นจะอยู่ในเวอร์ชัน Suite Standard และสามารถดาวน์โหลดได้ฟรีจากเว็บไซต์ http://portableapps.com/suite

การติดตั้ง
PortableApps.com Suite นั้นสามารติดตั้งลงในฮาร์ดดิสก์หรือไดรฟ์แบบพกพาก็ได้ (ขนาดความจุดต้องเหมาะสมกับเวอร์ชันที่ใช้) โดยหลังจากดาวน์โหลดเสร็จแล้วให้ทำการติดตั้งโดยการดับเบิลคลิกที่ไฟล์ที่ดา วนโหลดมา (เวอร์ชันปัจจุบันไฟล์ชื่อ PortableApps.com_Suite_Setup_1.5.2.exe)

หลังจากการติดตั้งแล้วเสร็จ ให้ดับเบิลคลิกที่ไฟล์ StartPortableApps.exe ซึ่งจะอยู่ในรูทของไดร์ฟที่ทำการติดตั้ง หรือไดร์ฟอุปกรณ์เก็บข้อมูลแบบพกพา จากนั้นก็เลือกเปิดโปรแกรมที่ต้องการจาก PortableApps.com Menu

หมายเหตุ: การติดตั้ง PortableApps.com Suite นั้น แนะนำให้ติดตั้งที่รูทของไดร์ฟอุปกรณ์เก็บข้อมูลแบบพกพา เช่น H:\ เป็นต้น
